MISSION STATEMENT

Kathleen Mandeville founded The Outer Edge with the mission of challenging individuals, the arts and community institutions to come into the depth and truth of who they are, and to activate and support their manifestation of that truth into the broader world.

She has worked with a broad array of arts, social justice and community  organizations, performers, writers, healers and sacred communities to sharpen their focus on why they’re here and what they wish to accomplish as the truest expression of their soul’s mission.

Kathleen’s work is broadly interdisciplinary, informed by her kaleidoscopic skill set as a pastor, social activist, community organizer, arts producer, facilitator, ceremonialist, and impresaria extraordinaire. Her scope has ranged from one-on-one coaching for creators, to the design and production of large scale community rituals and performances, to youth mentoring, end-of-life counseling, and grief work.

Kathleen brings the passion, acumen and discernment that fires the imagination and refines the mission. This ruthless pursuit to cultivate the ‘Divine Unrest’ of creativity, to loosen the structures around the free movement of spirit in our lives, to ignite the passion for our truest self-expression, is her hallmark.

Kathleen’s deep connection to spirit and her restive, inquisitive nature have combined to produce an incredible richness of training and experience that spans a diverse, synergistic blend of disciplines.

Starting in 1984, Kathleen began her professional career as a Producer, Pastor, and Community Developer in New York City, working as a lecturer at Union Theological Seminary, Vice President of The Clinton Fund, and Founder/President of Clinton Community Services, a not-for-profit organization serving the homeless population of Times Square/Hell’s Kitchen neighborhoods, and founder of Clinton Peer AIDs Education Coalition, a harm reduction project serving the at-risk population of Times Square. She is the founder and producer of IgniVox Productions, a production company dedicated to the spiritual, regional and environmental witness through the arts.

As the Rector of the Episcopal church/theater, St. Clement’s in Hell's Kitchen, Ecumenical Chaplain at Bard College, and the founder of a ritual theater company, the Wyrd Sisters, Kathleen is adept at creating innovative community and lasting transformation in the lives of those within the various spiritual communities she has founded and supported.

Kathleen is an Episcopal Priest, has extensive training in Placemaking Training through the Project for Public Space, Nonviolent Communication, and Leadership training through the ATLAS Project. She is also a facilitator in the field of Systemic & Family Constellations. She is dedicated to continually enlarging her familiarity and capacity with healing, channeling and coaching modalities, cross-pollinating with other research-driven colleagues in the fields of spiritual, personal, and social evolution.

In addition, she is the spiritual leader of Gateway House, a growing sacred arts community located in the mid-Hudson Valley of New York state, where she lives, writes poetry, and serves as inspiration and creative provocateur for countless artists, performers, and affiliated community groups.
