Sourcing Lament: January 2025

A Lament, more than a complaint or vent, is an act of intimacy where we dwell with the Divine in solidarity with suffering.

A Two-Part Online Experience: Dusk & Dawn
Friday, January 10, 5–7pm
Saturday, January 11, 7:30–9:30am

By popular request, we are offering a second Sourcing Lament: Writing As Ceremony online workshop in collaboration with Katharina Lindauer. Dancer, musician, sister Constellation colleague, and Process Psychology guide, I am honored to be offering this workshop alongside her.

In this second workshop of the Sourcing Lament series, we will engage in both Constellation and Process Work practices.

Explore the genre of Lament as a writing practice, ceremonial journey and a form of spiritual activism, held by the setting and rising of the Sun. We will gather at Dusk to begin exploring this sacred tradition, then gather at Dawn to share the Laments we have crafted.

Process-Oriented Psychology, also known as Process Work, is a unique and holistic approach to therapy and personal development developed by Dr. Arnold Mindell.

Process Work is grounded in the concept of Deep Democracy, which emphasizes that all parts or voices within an individual, group, or community are essential for overall well-being. It seeks to hear and integrate all aspects of an experience to achieve greater awareness and wholeness.

Process Work can be applied in various contexts, including individual therapy, group facilitation, conflict resolution, organizational development, and even working with physical illnesses, coma states, and social issues.

Lament is a form of spiritual expression found within many faith/religious traditions. A Lament is an expression of our profound love and hope for the Divine to act in accordance with our relationship as co-creators.

Lament can bring us to a creative edge of what we hope, fear, or dare-not-say. This ceremonial workshop will be a sacred space for participants to gather and share, to compose and speak our own Laments and to be witnessed.

Composing a Lament is one small action we can take here and now. Join me in igniting this global wave of Lament, shifting out of a polarized, hostile realm into a compassionate space, grieving together as we bring forth this healing process to the world.

About Katharina Lindauer,
Our Guest Facilitator

Born and raised in Bavaria, Katharina lived and worked in various countries in Europe and Asia after finishing a degree in natural sciences. Since 2012, she has been trained in various alternative and holistic methods and was introduced to the family constellation method by one of her mentors, Ravit Levin, in 2016 during a stay in Asia. She completed her first training as a family constellation with Sophie Hellinger at the Hellinger Institute in Bad Reichenhall. This was followed by additional modules with Ritu Kabra (Hellinger Institute, India), Suzi Tucker (Hellinger Institute, USA), Mark Wolynn and Jane Peterson. At the same time, Katharina decided to intensively engage with the process work method (process- oriented psychology; invented by Arnold Mindell [Process Work Institute]), an integrative and transformative awareness approach. Both modalities have shown Katharina the importance and unique power for her personal system.

About Kathleen, Our Host & Co-Facilitator

The founder of IgniVox Productions and The Outer Edge coaching, Kathleen has led retreats and workshops in a wide range of communities from college campuses, summer camps, and low-income housing, to prisons and seminaries including Union Theological Seminary, General Theological Seminary, Jewish Theological Seminary. As an Episcopal priest, Kathleen served as the Rector of St. Clement’s, the Episcopal church/theater in Hell's Kitchen, and as Ecumenical Chaplain at Bard College. She facilitates sacred ceremonies and Constellations Groups at Gateway House in the Hudson Valley. Poetry as a form of getting to what is so - a divination - is a long-standing practice within her vocational work. During the Covid pandemic, she engaged in the practice of writing a-poem-a-day. Through a collaboration with City Lore, Kathleen is expanding this vision of a wave of lament for global healing.
